    Our Mission

Willamette Falls Studio’s mission is to inspire lifelong learning, advance knowledge, and define communications through digital media technology to educate and strengthen communities.

As a public access facility, WFS provides cities with channel management services. Additionally, we provide services that help to put your community dollars to work.

WFS is a production training facility, a host agency for internships and job skill building, and a centralized location with media support for local events. WFS’s participant network provides a spectrum of opportunities in media production, production management, and content delivery.

Our professional staff work daily to create media content for local organizations, capture city projects, consult on productions, customize broadcast systems and provide technical support. The staff at WFS work with all levels of experience in media production. Any resident of the five service areas can learn how to be a WFS producer at little to no out-of-pocket cost. All we require is playback of your final project on the Public Channel. Come in and talk to our staff about how we can help you with your communication needs.

Essentially, WFS provides residents with a porthole into their community. Through televised local government meetings and community produced programming, coupled with the training to create and share their views, residents have a unique opportunity to not only access the community’s global perspective, but to also help shape it.

    Our Values

To deliver on our mission, we rely on several great resources—our Board of Directors, staff, volunteers, clients, community partnerships, our physical and virtual spaces, as well as a set of core values.

We inspire lifelong learning by creating able learners and researchers. We:

    • Teach learning and information-navigation skills
    • Provide tools, resources, and great places to work
    • Engage in great exploratory conversations
    • Ask and answering questions that encourage patrons to challenge their creativity
    • Support creativity, research, and problem-solving
    • Bring people together to spark creative synergies and learn from each other

How WFS Fits Into Clackamas County

Essentially, WFMC provides residents with a porthole into their community. Through televised local government meetings and community produced programming, coupled with the training to create and share their views, residents have a unique opportunity to not only access the community’s global perspective, but to also help shape it.

    Non Profit

Willamette Falls Studios is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit media education and development resource, located within Clackamas County, Oregon. The Studios is governed by a Board of Directors comprised of members of the local community. Along with staff, the board of directors have developed a community-minded, value based mission, “best in practice” financial procedures, and a long-term growth strategy that addresses both expected and potential future industry changes. During the organizations reformation, WFMC not only retained their long-standing relationships, but also broadened its scope and reach in the community by increasing their partnerships, services, and learning opportunities into new areas of the county.

    Classes & Education

Being an educational resource is paramount to The Studios and we continually seek out new avenues and opportunities to support that mission. Through videography classes, unique hands-on internships and volunteer opportunities in both media production and office skills training, we offer informative, practical instruction designed to reinforce lifelong learning. All education services are open to students and adults of any skill level to encourage personal and professional advancement and by partnering with local schools and colleges, community services, and non-profit services The Studios is able to complement, support, and expand on programs and services that are available elsewhere.

    Community Work

Nurturing established relationships with civic, educational, and non-profit partnerships and cultivating new opportunities for involvement are essential to strengthening community connectivity. As a community driven resource, The Studios ensures that residents are able to share ideas and views about topics that are important to the community, to highlight the unique qualities of the region, and to promote the rich history of the county. Willamette Falls Studios recognizes this inherent value and provides the tools that build a community voice and support the platform on which to share it.

    Cable Channels

Willamette Falls Studios is supported by cable subscribers of Milwaukie, Oregon City, Wilsonville and the Unincorporated regions of Clackamas County. We are your local community media center, located in the Historic McLoughlin District of Oregon City.

WFS currently manages five local cable channels. These PEG Channels are the community’s Public, Education and Government Channels. You can view these television channels with a cable subscription, or you can view WFS produced programs on  Vimeo.

WFS also provides programming for a sixth channel known as the Cable Access Network (CAN) Channel. This channel cablecasts out to Washington, Multnomah, and Clackamas County. This channel is reserved for local producers.
